The parent brand of “Bowl’d” is “Idlies” and I’m always awed at how these places serve our comfort food with panache. No compromise on quality and always making you feel close to your home kitchen’s preparation. It’s a small lunch menu at Bowl’d with a few types of variety rice. They are open from 10 AM to 4 PM. Only takeaways, and delivery is through online delivery partners.
After my video shoot here, I’ve been ordering Paruppu Sadham (₹100) often. I always need a pinch of salt in their preparation. But, it gets balanced by the accompaniments that it comes with – Vatha Kuzhambu and Keerai. Comfortingly yummy!
All their Variety Rice Bowls come with Vadaam, Fruit and Poriyal of the day. The Pulyodharai (₹100) came with Urulai Varuval (Potato Fry) this time when I ordered and I haven’t found any Poriyal combination that can kill this pair. Puliyodharai as such was a bit spicy. The crunchiness of the peanuts might distract you from the spiciness, though. My loyalty towards their Paruppu Sadham is shaking after my first mouthful of Kathrikkai (Brinjal) Sadham (₹95). I’m so in love with this style of preparation that I can’t express it in words.
My weakness for Manga Pattani Sundal (₹50) is completely taken care here. The quantity is as good as having this Sundal for a meal by itself. Buttermilk (₹30) with it’s slightly Green Chilli note can’t go wrong.
Totally paid ₹500 along with one more Buttermilk and Kothamalli Sadham (₹95) on which I’m not eligible to comment. I’ve never been a fan of this Kothamalli Sadhams so all I can say about it is comme ci, comme ça!
