The French Door, Coimbatore:

It took me almost 3 years to try this place from the time I decided to check this place out. This place has been strongly recommended by my food connoisseur friends. It was Rendez-Vous with @kannammacooks who is as passionate as me if not more about food. And, it was unanimously decided to meet here over lunch.

My conclusion about the French Door is that it is probably the most underrated place in Coimbatore. The food and service was impeccable. Lovely company with great food.

Dates and Citrus Salad (₹350) was the perfect kickstart to the awesome meal. Chicken Cordon Bleu (₹490) with it’s butter-y center and perfectly crusted texture was impressive. But what totally flattered me was their Grilled Balsamic Fig Pizza (₹530) – Simple ingredients with balanced flavours. Since, the Dessert we ordered wasn’t available we were given a on-the-house Baked Cheesecake. We were in complete silence while devouring it. It was that good.

Non-alcoholic Beer (₹275) was a first for me and I enjoyed it more than the Non-alcoholic Wine (₹535). Total bill was ₹2310 including a bottled water and applicable taxes which my lunch partner was humble enough to pay.
