Madurai Sathya Vilas, Choolaimedu

Crossing this side of the town often for my normal chores and I couldn’t but notice the bright big signage of this place. And, this place had me at the mention of “Madurai” in it’s brand name. Mentally, bookmarked a few months back and so I had to jump into any immediate opportunity to try them out. Decent ambience and attentive service. A few non-availabilty items on the menu is totally understandable these days after the Pandemic scenario when eateries have to cut short on a few things to keep the food cost within practical limits. But, luckily the item that I eyed upon was available. It’s the MSV Combo 1 (₹250) which came with a portion of Chicken Biryani which was the short grained, fragrant Seeraga Samba make. Special points for the accompanying Dalcha which was spot-on in taste. Second component of the combo was a Chicken Vadasatti Sadham which was really good. These 2 also came along with another 2 items – Rasam Sadham and Muttai Mass, which were satisfying. The Kola Urundai (₹30/pc) was well made. The Mutton Sukka (₹190) would have been even more impressive if the pieces were smaller which in turn would have made it softer in texture. No complaints on the taste and flavor, though. Totally paid ₹740 for the above mentioned items along with a Non-Vegetarian meals, 2 more Kola, 2 Paneer Soda and a water bottle.
